Great journeys begin at the river! Knowing that each student comes to us with unique and infinite value, we inspire and guide each student's journey toward self-confidence, purpose and identity. To help students succeed in their journey, Christchurch, as Episcopal school, provides a sound college preparatory education in a caring, structured community. Christchurch School prepares students for college and beyond with skills they need to meet success in the 21st century, as we focus on building strengths in critical thinking, collaboration, communication, technology and stewardship. We connect learning with experience using an integrated approach. A Christchurch education includes stewardship of our river and awareness of the broader natural environment, so that our students learn to look beyond themselves to their place in the world around them. Students engage in five co-curricular activities: Virginia prep league athletics, community service/spiritual life, arts and music, river and outdoors, and campus life/leadership. Our college-preparatory curriculum offers Honors and AP options, while the Learning Skills Program serves approximately 20% of the student body. A three level ESL program is also available. The campus is located on 125 acres on the Rappahannock River in the Chesapeake Bay region of Tidewater, Virginia, allowing unique offerings in marine science, crew, and sailing. A Christchurch journey is one of friends, of growth and of success.
