Grier School's motto, A Sound Mind in a Sound Body, captures the spirit of the school's mission. Founded in 1853 as a boarding school for girls, Grier provides young women with a well-rounded education in a secure setting. Grier's supportive faculty and caring environment ensure the success of the multi-track academic program. Accelerated, average, underachieving as well as international students all are served by our offerings. Students participate daily in art and athletics. Four new buildings for the arts, science, dance and horseback riding have been built since 2000.
