Founded in 1867, The Storm King School celebrates a 150 year tradition of helping students translate potential into success as they prepare for college and meaningful lives. Located at the peak of Storm King Mountain in the Hudson River Valley, The Storm King School's 60 acre campus is about an hour north of New York City. As an independent co-ed boarding and day school for students in grades 8-12 and PG, our 180 students represent 26 countries this year. The Storm King School has highly qualified teachers, several Ph. D teachers, and professionals in the arts. We are well known internationally for the strength of our Science and Math programs, as well as our arts, and championship sports teams (19 sports available). We offer a student-centered, project-based learning environment, where students often learn outside of the classroom in areas such as The Black Rock Forest (16 square kilometers next to campus), New York City, Storm King Arts Center, The Hudson River, West Point Military Academy and more.
