The Wheeler School is a Nursery - Grade 12, coed, independent day school located on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island. Wheeler was founded in 1889 by Mary Colman Wheeler, an American Impressionist artist and educator born in Concord, Massachusetts. The School today has approximately 800 students with 200 faculty and staff. In addition to its main campus in Providence, the School has a 120-acre Farm facility for athletics, its Sixth Grade Farm Program, summer camp, ropes course, sports programs and environmental research.
